Do Japanese women love foreign men?
Yes, some Japanese women have a deep interest in foreign men, but only in the same way that there are train spotters in the UK or manga fans in Sweden, etc… meaning they exist but the vast majority of people are not that.
The idea that Japanese girls love foreigners and are ‘easy’ for foreigners to get is an old cliche from before that perhaps was only true up until the 1990s. Perhaps it was never really true, though ive heard from some people that it was true until the 1990s. But in any case it has declined markedly since then.
The vast majority of Japanese women (or guys) do not have an active interest in gaijin for a short or long term relationship, or if they do they not SHOW it. For this type of thing ‘not having’ and ‘having but not showing’ amounts to almost the same thing: both look like disinterest. I would guess that only around 2% to 5% of Japanese people, male of female, make an ACTIVE effort to get a foreigner for a relationship of some sort. Certainly not more than 10%. which means that at least 90% do not.
Funny thing is that the stereotype of ‘Japanese girls love foreigners’ refuses to die or adjust to the reality. Many people upon hearing the actual facts of what happens simply deny it, refuse to overcome the stereotype image. They come out with various anecdotal cases of having some Japanese person show a lot of sexual/relationship interest in them or seeing Japanese girls in clubs kissing with foreign men etc. forgetting the obvious fact that seeing this once or twice or even dozens of times does not mean its normal behaviour, statistically valid across the whole population…any more than having 4 Swedish friends who like manga means ‘all Swedes love manga’ is true.
Any type of well organised sociological or quantitative study would clearly show that its true to say that the vast majority of Japanese men and women show little interest in getting a gaijin for a short or long term relationship.
