Cheating on a mate
What we often call ''cheating' is probably a natural tendency, because men are programmed by nature to spread their genes as widely as possible. IF that is true, then there is not much reason to say they are behaving badly, is there? They are simply doing what evolution has programmed them to do. Why should be label that as bad?
The theory is also that woman are programmed to seek out a GOOD mate, meaning get good quality DNA, to pass onto her children. Therefore they do not try lots of men, they try to be careful and find a good one. Also that men has billions of sperm to waste, they can afford to waste a billion here and there... but women only have a 300 or 500 fertile eggs in their whole life, so each egg is more important and requires careful behaviour. That is their evolutionary programming and it is not clear why that should be considered better than men's programming. Or why the behaviour connected to that is to be deemed positive, while the behaviour connected to men's programming is deemed negative.
Though, we do make such judgements, varying across different societies, of course. And cultural norms influence the manifestation of the underlying evolutionary apsects.
